A six-month SEO and AI-search program for an Australian automatic transmission repair specialist, tracked in Semrush and Google Search Console.
In April 2024, AutomaticTransmission.com.au had an Authority Score of 18 and about 7,700 estimated organic visits a month, after a period of declining organic traffic.
Six months later, the decline was reversed. Semrush showed about 13,700 estimated monthly visits and an Authority Score of 30. In Google Search Console, clicks grew from 8K to 22.5K and impressions from 234K to 478K, as more keywords moved into the top 3 and top 10 for high-intent repair searches.
Drivers with a slipping or failing transmission search urgently and choose fast. The brief was to make sure this specialist showed up for those high-intent searches, in Google and in AI answers.
Five workstreams ran in parallel: fix the foundations, widen keyword coverage, win more of the search results page, build authority and make the site easy for AI tools to cite.
By September 2024, nearly 1,200 keywords ranked on Google’s first page, almost 500 of them in the top 3. More keywords in the top 3 and top 10 meant more high-intent traffic from people ready to book a repair.
The site also held 448 SERP features, such as People Also Ask, featured snippets and rich results.
We structured content for LLM ingestion, reinforced the brand, service and location as one clear entity, and formatted pages with FAQs, definitions and explanations that AI tools can quote.
