Powder coating is a dry finishing process in which finely ground powder particles, composed of resins, pigments, curatives, and additives, are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto a grounded metal surface. The charged particles adhere to the surface and are then cured under heat, forming a continuous, hard, and uniform coating that bonds chemically to the substrate. Unlike liquid paint, powder coating contains no solvents or liquid carriers, which allows for thicker coatings without sagging and reduces environmental impact.
